Third time’s the charm – annual Canuck Splitfest was a major success!
Building on the success of the first two events (2011 and 2012), we’re stoked to announce the third annual Canuck Splitfest presented by Prior will be held January 5th and 6th in Revelstoke, BC

Canuck Splitfest fee: FREE, but you’re encouraged to click the donate button on the website. Amounts over $25 will receive a tax receipt from the Canadian Avalanche Foundation (a registered Canadian charity)

Parks Admission Fee: $7.80/day or $39.20 for an annual pass (available at
the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre)
Parks Access Permit: In Rogers Pass, Parks Canada and the Canadian Forces operate the world’s largest mobile avalanche control program to keep the Trans-Canada Highway
and the Canadian Pacific Railway open. Access to many areas of Glacier National Park is restricted or prohibited in the winter. The Winter Permit System allows backcountry visitors to enter restricted areas when avalanche control artillery gunfire is not planned.
The Winter Permit System protects backcountry users from the danger of direct artillery fire and the resulting avalanches.
Daily Winter Permits are available at the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre. Annual Winter Permits are also available after passing an on-line quiz at parkscanada.gc.ca/
open, and does not render backcountry slopes safe for winter recreationists. Anyone travelling into the backcountry in winter should have proper training to assess avalanche terrain and conditions, as well as the appropriate equipment and skills for self-rescue.
